Digital Résumé
LAST UPDATED: 12/28/2024.
Summary
I am a university-educated music and audio industry professional who has spent years developing their artistic intuitions and technological expertise with equal rigor.
My areas of specialization are studio production and recording in both the digital and analog realm; I have worked as a student recording engineer in professional-grade facilities for several years.
I have obtained a multitude of hands-on experiences with operating and troubleshooting A/V technologies.
I studied tape recording and analog workflows in great detail during my final two years of college, and concluded my undergraduate studies with an in-depth research project into vintage recording and production techniques.
As an seasoned studio worker who has serviced hundreds of clients, I have placed consistent, high-quality socialization and communication at the forefront of my career.
I am interested in careers which allow me to further explore the craft of music-making and recording, primarily with acoustic-leaning instrumentation, using hybrid analog and digital layouts.
EDUCATION

WORK EXPERIENCE
*asterisks denote ongoing positions
*On-Call Freelance Media Production Engineer
The Juilliard School
I lead and assist on recording studio sessions as needed, helping students with both academic recordings and personal projects. Typical recordings involve student ensembles from the classical/jazz departments and all-acoustic instrumentation. Responsibilities include setup, breakdown, and the recording of both audio and video— which involves mics, video cameras, lighting equipment, etc.
*Studio Assistant/Score Transcriptionist
LiveWire Production and Recording
I transcribe both audio and MIDI tracks of original music compositions into neat, professional manuscripts for musician use in the notation software Sibelius. The task requires extensive attention to detail, advanced aural comprehension skills (including polyphonic transcriptions with no written references), and thorough understandings of how notation works for every instrument group and how to optimize manuscript appearance for maximum readability. I also occasionally assist on studio maintenance (which has included a full rewiring of the studio space) and recording sessions.
*Freelance Music Editor, Music/Audio engineer, and Producer
Provide music-related services, such as studio recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, to independent music artists, mainly focusing on college-age students looking to build up an academic portfolio of their musical work.
Concert Recordist
New York University
I was tasked with setting up and recording audio, video, and livestreams for student recitals in a variety of performance spaces across the University. In order to fulfill this role, I received extensive training on a diverse array of A/V setups in different venues, which included multitrack recorders, microphones, video cameras, streaming devices, projectors, PA systems, and mixing consoles.
James L. Dolan Studio Engineer
Conduct studio sessions in all capacities, including session planning, setup, breakdown, recording, editing, comping, and recording video (as required).
James L. Dolan Studio Intern
As an intern, I assist both the studio engineer and the clients by setting up and taking down sessions in the live room, operating Pro Tools and gear in the control room, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the space as a whole.
Private Piano Teaching
Started my own business giving private piano lessons, mostly to young children just getting started with music. This job has involved creating my own promotional materials and setting price rates as well as creating lesson plans, sheet music, and other exercises for my students.
